“Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to us that we should proclaim the Word of God through Music.”
Martin Luther
The Adult Choir is open to all singers from high school through adulthood. The group rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm-7:45pm. The Adult Choir sings in two, three, and four parts. This ensemble shares musical offerings with the congregation during Sunday worship throughout the year as well as special occasions such as Christmas Eve. You do not have to know how to read music to participate, although it is helpful. All are welcome!
St. Mark’s is blessed to have three octaves of handbells, and always have room for new ringers! You do not have to know how to read music to participate. The Bell Choir meets each Thursday from 7:45pm-8:30pm. This ensemble plays during weekly worship throughout the year as well as for special services.
Music is an important part of Christian education, and our young children learn a variety of songs during Faith Formation each week. The children share their songs with the congregation during Sunday worship throughout the school year.
Worship experiences are blessed by the gifts of individuals with special musical talents. If you play an instrument or would like to sing solo or duet, St. Mark’s would appreciate you sharing your gifts! If you would like to share your musical talent, please contact Emily Ballentine Erb to co-ordinate the schedule of music.
