We offer Faith Formation for the WHOLE Family
Sunday morning offers a variety of experiences here at St. Mark’s. And no matter which experience you choose, we all study the same lessons based on the texts appointed for that Sunday’s worship service! That way no matter which class you went to, there are ways to talk as a family about what went on in worship that day.
Our Family and Young Person’s Class meets following Communion in our Sunday Worship service. Young folks are invited to commune first and then head upstairs for their Faith Formation Lesson. For folks not able to attend worship with us, the class starts around 10:15 and runs to 11:00am. The Family Class is for children age 3 and up and parents are welcome to join along with their children. We sing together, we pray together, we do activities together. This year we will continue to use the resource Whirl as our curriculum to explore various bible stories – which helps our young ones dive deeper into the stories we read in worship in age appropriate ways.
Our Adult Faith Formation Class – meets after worship in the library and explores in a discussion group format the lessons appointed for that Sunday in worship. Each week we gather to discuss various dimensions of biblical texts and how they impact our lives. We seek to see what the text mean for us and our faith and what they might be inviting us to do as disciples. Each week is a different class – so feel free to drop in and out as time and your schedule permits.
