St. Mark’s has been affiliated with a Scout troop for most of it’s history. The original troop – Troop 3 was chartered in March of 1928. Since that time the scouts have been an active presence in the community working towards many service projects that make a difference in our world, create a greater appreciation for the great outdoors, and instill leadership qualities in hundreds of young men.
In it’s history the scout troop has seen over 50 boys attain the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting. Becoming an Eagle Scout means that boys join the ranks of leaders like Gerald Ford (US President), Stephen Breyer (Us Supreme Court Justice), Neil Armstrong (First man to walk on the moon), Michael Bloomberg (Mayor of New York City), and Stephen Spielberg (move producer) among many other dignitaries and political leaders.
The Troop meets on Monday nights
from 7 – 8:30pm in the auditorium.
If you or your boy are interested in becoming part of our Troop – please contact our acting Scout Master – Steve Hurst firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to our Boy Scout Troop, St. Mark’s also sponsors a Cub Pack and a Venture Crew. For more information about any of these organizations please contact the church office or check out their website.
